Our Policies
Please review our hospital policies and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your pet's medical record is strictly private. We will not give out information regarding your pet without your specific permission. If you have need for your pets medical records to be released to another veterinarian, groomer, boarding facility or rescue please call the office to provide permission for us to release the records, 48 hours notice is required.
Laboratory Testing, Radiology/Pathology
It is often necessary to perform laboratory and/or radiologic procedures, which are not included in the examination and office fee. These procedures will be discussed with you and your permission to proceed will be obtained prior to being done.
Rabies Vaccination
Please note for the safety of our staff a Rabies vaccine is required of all our patients old enough (16 weeks or older) to receive one. Proof of a current Rabies vaccine from your previous veterinarian is required or a Rabies vaccine will be given at your appointment.
Telephone Calls
Since telephone diagnosis is inaccurate and can be detrimental to your pet, it is not our policy to diagnose or recommend treatment over the phone. Calls requesting information or regarding the status of a hospitalized pet may be returned by a trained veterinary technician or office personnel, facilitating callback time.
Payment for Services
Payment is due at the time services are rendered. If you have any special considerations regarding payment, please discuss this with the receptionist prior to seeing the doctor. We accept a variety of payment options, including cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and checks.
Appointments
Our office hours are posted for your information. During office hours, our receptionist will assist you in scheduling a convenient appointment time. For new patients at least 24 hours prior to your pets first visit you will need to provide any previous medical records to facilitate recording a complete history. You can either drop off a copy or email your records (a clear picture is fine) to [email protected]. Failure to provide previous records ahead of time may result in the cancellation of your appointment. If there are no previous records just inform our staff. If you are calling after office hours, please leave your name and number on the answering service and we will return your call at the earliest possible time. Be sure to include your first and last name, pet's name and telephone number(s). Please arrive for scheduled appointments on time. In the event of a need to cancel an appointment, please give us 24 hours notice. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment you may be asked to reschedule to be fair to other clients.
Medications Request
Careful review and documentation of your pets medications is important to maintaining their well being. This process takes time, so 48 hours notification is required for all medication refill request. Please keep in mind that we are closed on weekends, which may increase the amount of time needed to obtain approval and plan accordingly when considering when your pets next refill will be needed.
Online Prescription Request
It is our practice policy to provide written prescriptions to our clients if purchase is requested from an online pharmacy with the exception of our online pharmacy, My Vetstore Online, that is directly linked to our main distributor. We will not authorize any fax or telephone prescriptions from an online pharmacy. As with any medication request, 48 hours is needed to review your pet's history and prescriptions. Due to the ever increasing number of online pharmacies, we cannot determine if any specific pharmacy is safe, ethical and a legal provider of medication. By providing a written script we can ensure that the script provided is for the correct medication and dose. We highly recommend you research any online pharmacy you wish to use to insure that they are licensed in the state they operate. For further information on this topic please visit our Online Prescription Policy under the Client Center Tab.
